For this roof replacement project in Bristol, CT, we stripped and disposed of the existing roofing down to the original decking. Where plywood decking was present, we installed 4-inch seam tape on all seams. We added new F-8 aluminum drip edge metal around the entire roof perimeter and applied Tamko Moisture Guard Ice & Water Barrier to the first six feet of eaves, intersection roof sections, valleys, and other leak-prone areas. The remainder of the roof received synthetic underlayment with reinforced fiberglass, followed by an asphalt universal starter course and new Tamko Titan XT architectural shingles. We installed our exclusive Attic Armor pest-deterrent system on the ridge, Tamko Hip & Ridge cap shingles on all ridges and hips, and one-piece Never-Leak pipe boots on all vent pipes. The chimney was properly step flashed and fitted with new counter flashing, and we attached new heating coils to ice dam-prone areas at the front of the home.
